Psychedelics for Healing Your Relationships

Do you find yourself getting triggered and hijacked by involuntary reactions in your intimate relationships? Are you curious about how psychedelics might be used for healing within relationships? Do you want to understand the connection between healing attachment trauma and psychedelics? Do you want to explore how psychedelics can improve communication, understanding and intimacy?

In this talk, we will explore the ways in which psychedelics can be useful to change relational dynamics, and enhance intimacy and connection. We will look more deeply into the reasons why relational challenges occur to understand how psychedelics can be useful to heal pain, disconnection, and trauma, as well as increase safety and understanding. We will explore the effect of different kinds of psychedelics and how some of these effects can be useful to understand and alter relational dynamics. You will be guided through an embodiment practice to integrate the learning, as well as a list of practical tools to take away.

You will walk away from this talk with…

  • A deeper understanding of why relational dynamics can lead to greater pain and trauma
  • An understanding of the connection between shadow work and psychedelics
  • An understanding of the benefit of working with psychedelics on your own
  • Insights about the different types of psychedelics useful in the context of relational healing
  • A better understanding of trauma, how to recognise different levels of trauma and how to work with it
  • Insights into what can go wrong during a psychedelic journey and what you can do about it
  • A list of practical tools to bring into your experience
  • Guidance on how to prepare for a psychedelic experience in the context of your relationships either alone or together

Bibi Gratzer uses non-ordinary states as a tool to help her understand her ego structure, which is often based on traumatic childhood experiences or limiting beliefs. These states have allowed her to release suppressed emotions, express herself more deeply, and increase her capacity to accept and love both herself and her partner.

Stanislav Grof, one of the fathers of transpersonal psychology and researcher of non-ordinary states of consciousness, said that trauma can only be healed on the level that it was created. Bibi believes strongly that psychedelics - if used as a ritual and with specific intention - provide a gateway into healing relational trauma in a way that classical psychotherapy cannot. In order for psychedelics to be a healing experience, they need to be taken with a specific intention and in a ritualistic context in a safe environment - this allows more vulnerable, fragile parts of us to come up. By using them in this way, side-effects can be significantly reduced and, in some cases, might be removed altogether - this is how Bibi believes we can work with psychedelics most effectively.

Speaker: Bibi Gratzer

Bibi Gratzer’s essence lies in bringing the sacred into the experience of the body through sacred sexuality, emotional shadow work, relationship work, and ritual. Her spiritual practices include tantra, cross-work (an archetypal map of the soul), Ashtanga Yoga and different forms of dance. She has worked hundreds of people offering intensives, workshops, retreats, and long-term mentoring.
