Exploring the approach of Ecosystem Restoration Communities: beyond the fence

If we want to rapidly repair degrading ecosystems, we need to harness the power of the everyday person, farmer, and villager who lives in a degraded land. By focusing on Inspiration through the creation of inspiring real-world examples at ERCs, and supporting ERCs in educating their neighbours we see the immediate effect - the rapid scaling out of ecosystem restoration in the regions where ERCs are based.

Location: Back at the Shack!!

Join us at 7pm on Monday 16th October at our favourite London hangout, LoveShack. A cool, cosy, candlelit patch of vegan paradise tucked under the railway arches of Cambridge Heath Station. They have an enticing new menu for 2023 (Shroom steaks and lion's mane cacao!) so you may want to arrive hungry. We just ask that you order and eat before we kick off at 7.30pm, or after the speaker has finished.

Flying solo? The majority of people arrive at our Monthly PsySocial events alone! It's a great opportunity to meet other likeminded people and members of our community. We leave plenty of time after the talks for conversations and connections.

Schedule
19:00: Arrive & socialise
19:30: Mini workshop and Q&A discussion with Michéal Connors
21:00: Socialise & network!

Guest Speaker

Alejandra Garcia (Ecosystem Restoration Communities)

Alejandra Garcia is a communications and digital marketing consultant with a creative background. An advocate for a positive and interconnected relationship with nature. This belief informs her work in both the corporate and charitable worlds. She is an expert in digital strategy and IT, and is skilled in delivering high performing domestic and international campaigns across multiple online and traditional platforms.

Ecosystem Restoration Communities is a  global movement of everyday people that are reversing ecological destruction across six continents.
We are a worldwide network of everyday people and projects taking the lead in restoring the earth. We are working together to change the broken system ourselves. We offer solutions for the world’s largest crises, eases eco anxiety and inspires people through positive impact stories, learning opportunities and hands-on experiences.

In 2017, we started by establishing an Ecosystem Restoration Camp in Spain. The movement has since then grown to more than 60 communities in around 30 countries across six continents involving more than 25000 people. And our movement is growing.

ERCs are developing the proof-of-concept in local landscapes that will inspire and attract all who live there to join the effort to restore ecosystems and introduce regenerative practices.https://www.ecosystemrestorationcommunities.org/
