Fri 20 Oct ~ Cacao Ceremony, Ecstatic Dance & Live Sound Bath ~ Osara x Deya CacaoAmor

We're excited to be holding a deep dive Friday evening event this month with special guest Deya CacaoAmor. This is Deya's last Cacao Ceremony in the UK this year as she is going to Latin America for several months to deepen her studies.

Deya CacaoAmor ~ Cacao Ceremony & Live Sound Bath

Deya was born and raised in Ecuador and grew up drinking Cacao with her family and community. Since 2014 she has been leading Cacao Ceremonies all around the world.

Deya is an experienced and wildly loving Cacao Sorceress who shares the wisdom, heritage and spirit of Cacao with honour, respect and love. As well as singing traditional songs from her homeland, she shares beautiful guidance, joy and celebration in her ceremonies. She has led a whole array of Cacao Ceremonies ranging between one-to-one bespoke ceremonies and ceremonies for up to 1,000 people on the main stage at Medicine Festival, UK.

Since 2019, Deya has been collaborating with a local cooperative in Ecuador exporting premium Ceremonial Grade Cacao around the world, expanding the nurturing Medicine of Cacao to the Seven Directions, whilst supporting and protecting the biodiversity of the farms and the people who care for them

Osara ~ Ecstatic Dance & Live Sound Bath

Osara is a DJ, Ecstatic Dance Facilitator and Ceremony Leader based in London, UK. He's the founder of Ecstatic Dance Bristol and Ace Collectiv, which are home to an ever evolving, vibrant conscious community in the beating heart of Bristol city.

Osara has DJ’d and facilitated at Ecstatic Dances in Costa Rica, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Oslo, Helsinki, Dallas and Wales amongst other places. He has also DJed and led Ecstatic Dances at Envision (Selva Armonia), Medicine, Boomtown, Lovejam, as well as other festivals and events. He is the longest serving resident DJ for Ecstatic Dance UK, London.

Osara uniquely combines the worlds of club and dance music culture with prayer, ceremony and ritual, to create transformative dance journeys that are ever evolving and responding to the spirit of time, community and place.

Osara finds inspiration from many cultures, especially underground dance music from the UK and around the world; and powerful medicine, ceremony and folk music from indigenous tribes, lands and cultures (Sami, Scandinavian, Celtic, Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, Umbanda, Afro-Brazilian, African and more).

Expect a beautiful, considered and unexpected mix of Afro, Tribal, Organic House, Techno, Drum & Bass, UK Funky, Psy Trance, World Bass, 140, Folktronica, Neo Cumbia, South American bass music and more; along with Medicine, Folk and World music; and a few surprises in between.

Cacao Ceremony

Preparation

We recommend avoiding or reducing your caffeine intake on the day of event and timing meals so you are not full. This will help your system assimilate the Cacao and prepare your body to receive more subtle energy cues from the Cacao.

Drink at least 1 litre of water before the Cacao Ceremony throughout the day and stay hydrated.

If you are taking SSRI antidepressants, please consult with your doctor first and let us know.

About Cacao

Theobromine Cacao is one of the most nutrient rich foods in the world! Cacao aids in longevity and has many powerful antioxidants. Theobromine present in Cacao, dilates blood vessels, relieving stress on the heart, and sharpens the mind.

The tryptophan and tryptamine serotonin present in Cacao, make it a natural antidepressant. Cacao is the only food plant found containing Anandamide which comes from the Sanskrit word Ananda meaning ‘bliss’. Anandamide is known as the chemical of happiness, an endorphin our body produces, giving us feelings of euphoria. Cacao also contains abundant Phenethylamine ~ a class of biochemicals that our body produces when we are in love.

Cacao enhances the qualities of what is already there, helping us release stagnant emotions; and creating space for healing and celebration. We will connect with the spirit of Cacao as a sacred plant medicine and ally with the intention of connecting to ourselves and each other.
