Join us for an evening of cinema and conversation as we delve into the fascinating mind of Alexander Shulgin, the “godfather of psychedelics,” in a screening of Dirty Pictures.

Schedule

6.30pm - 7pm: Welcome and Introduction: Get settled in, grab a cup of tea and connect with fellow explorers of consciousness

7pm - 8.30pm: Film Screening of “Dirty Pictures”: Explore the life of Alexander Shulgin, a renegade chemist who pushed the boundaries of psychedelic chemistry, creating over 200 novel psychoactive compounds. This documentary follows his extraordinary journey and the profound impact he had on psychedelic research.

8.30-9.30pm: Discussion: An opportunity to discuss the movie and themes it explores, sharing insights, questions and reflections.

The screening will take place in the Gasworks studio. With a living room-style layout, you can sit down or lie down, with blanket and cup of tea at hand for an ultra-cosy cinematic experience.

This is a non-profit community event. Our intention is to create a space for like-minded indiviguals, who are curious about consciousness and the power of psychedelics, to connect share ideas, and learn from one another.

About Dirty Pictures

Alexander 'Sasha' Shulgin is the scientist behind more than 200 psychedelic compounds including MDMA, more commonly known as Ecstasy. Considered to be one of the the greatest chemists of the twentieth century, Sasha's vast array of discoveries has had a profound impact in the field of psychedelic research. 'Dirty Pictures' delves into the lifework of Dr. Shulgin and scientists alike, explores the world of these scientists; their findings and motivations, their ideas, and their beliefs as to how research in this particular field can aid in unlocking the complexities of the mind.
