Do you fancy a witchy weekend away, packed full of ritual magic and medicine?

🍃Experiencing the language of the poisonous plants, as you greet each one, up close and personal on this sensory retreat.

💫 Learn of their stories and medicine, explore what there is to learn from the plants themselves.

🔮The Seed Sistas will be your guides for this immersive weekend.

We are living in a seemingly endless satire, filled with ridiculous and dark comedic leaders. Confusion and Chaos rule. As a species we are walking willingly into the abyss of consumerist destruction. Growing food and medicine is a political act and caring for oneself and others with home grown or wildcrafted plant medicine has become radical.

It takes great strength to ignore the status quo and the calls to conform.

As we craft a new culture, we show society what it means to truly be a community that care for one another and for the earth. The herbs hold the keys to a forgotten language, a language our ancestors knew well. It is time to re-story with the help of the consciousness shifting plants deemed 'evil' and reclaim our connection to the power plants of Europe.

Have you ever wondered about our Native Power Plants.. the so-called Witching Herbs?

Who they are?

Where they grow?

Their individual gifts and stories?

The Seed Sistas have worked with these plant poisons for decades exploring their power and beauty, exploring the folklore, magic and medicine of all the wonderful herbs of the poison path.

The Nightshades

The notorious gypsies of the wayside. The henbane, datura, belladonna and mandrake are some of the European power plants, holding keys to an altered mind perspective, as well as being important physically-active medicine. Since ancient times, these incredible plants have been famed for applications in witchcraft and medicine.

Experience a delightful tour through the Witch’s garden, the shadowy flower beds. Steeped in political history, the mysterious past of our native power plants calls to us somewhere deep within.

Over the weekend you shall be introduced to meditative and ritualistic work with various plants of the poison path including

  • Foxglove
  • Aconite
  • Datura
  • Henbane
  • Belladonna
  • Mandrake
  • And of course, not forgetting our flamboyant Fungal friend Fly Agaric

You will

  • Explore the use of altered states of consciousness in magical practice and personal development.
  • Take part in a host of  practical activities – discussions on your own magical practices, nature immersion and herb id walks, meditations, deep observational art and drawings, modern folklore writing.
  • Create a Flying Ointment: step-by-step together in circle channelling powerful magic.

While these plants are often regarded as mad, bad and dangerous to know, on this retreat you will experience a blend of indigenous magical knowledge and modern pharmacology as the Seed SistAs serve up a careful, comprehensive and inspiring re-evaluation of the 'hexing herbs'. Unpacking the history, theory and occult symbolism of these powerful plants as well as providing practical and transformative ways for you to engage with these magical medicines.

KAZ & FIONA ARE THE SEED SISTAS

Over decades of study and clinical practice in herbal medicine, the Seed SistAs have developed their own style and structure of herbalism which encompasses many diverse art forms; carefully listening to and being guided the voices of the plants. The plants unearth a forgotten language accessible through the practice of Sensory Herbalism.

One of their main focuses is sharing Sensory Herbalism in order to Cultivate Change through Eco-Activism with Community Medicine Garden Projects.

The word ‘Sensory’ is used to describe the way we work with the plants; getting to know them through using all of our senses and intuition, having a strong focus on physical movement, meditation, art and ritual in herbal practice.

Like so much in this fast-paced materialistic society, it is easy to ignore the connections between a bottle on the shelf in a health food shop and a living, growing plant out in our local surroundings. Many of the herbs contained in bottles in shops come from other continents. We use local plants and aim to demystify complicated medical jargon with something accessible to all.

The Seed SistAs believe that a positive shift occurs in each person that is educated about the harvesting and utilisation of herbal medicine. A reconnection with our beautiful plants and planet ensues. That’s how we will be able to build a whole new system of healing relevant to today. A system that takes the pressure off the NHS by empowering people to treat their minor ailments with abundantly growing herbs and a system that builds healthy communities by connecting people to their local plants, to each other, good health and our beautiful Earth.

Open your senses to a world waiting to meet you. Right outside your door are hundreds of herbal friends that can open you up and connect you to a supportive web that never leaves your side, all you have to do is listen closely.

Plant medicine is all around us, it is of the ancestors and of our future. We cannot turn our back on nature, we can choose to evolve and to become Nature’s advocates and protectors.
