Join our beautifully crafted ceremonial dance space to celebrate the Spring Equinox and the return of the light after the depth and darkness of the winter months.

As winter ends and spring begins - we invite the vibrancy, momentum and creative energy of the season to fuel our hopes and dreams. It is a time of renewal and rebirth. We plant the seeds of our intentions and lift our prayers through the wisdom of the moving body. Dancing to discover new possibilities, we connect to the abundance and the blossoming of the natural world. We open ourselves to receive insight and vision and dance for healing on a personal, relational, community and spiritual level.

"I have now experienced a whole cycle of Mira's Movement Medicine dance ceremonies, from Winter Solstice 2018-19. It is deep, profound magic. I so appreciate the opportunity to witness my cyclical life through the lens of prayerful embodied ceremony. Mira is a medicine maker and deeply intuitive space holder who I feel fully supported and held by. I can completely let go in her space, knowing that she is acutely, humbly and lovingly aware of all that is unfolding. There is really nothing I would rather be doing on power portal points of time than prayerfully dancing with soul family." - Tori from the Roundhouse

ABOUT MOVEMENT MEDICINE

Movement Medicine is an immersive dance meditation, held with captivating music and clear guidance. It is a weaving of both ancient wisdom and modern thinking such as Shamanism, 5Rhythms, Gestalt Psychotherapy and Constellation work. In a polarised culture where so much of our wounding comes from disconnection, Movement Medicine offers the opportunity for reconnection. It connects us to our elemental nature, to our bodies, hearts and minds, to each other and to the intelligence of life. Our movement becomes the medicine that opens the door to insight, new possibilities and the transformative power of the dance. The dance becomes an embodied prayer - for ourselves, each other and the interconnected community of life on earth.

YOUR FACILITATOR

Mira Khanya is a UK based Movement Medicine teacher. Growing up in South Africa, she brings with her a deep connection to the aliveness of nature and the beat of the drum. From an early age creativity was central in Mira’s life. Today the rich tapestry of her experience as a dancer, therapist and artist is woven into her work. Her love of ceremony, the depth of meditation and shamanic practices, and the inspiration of her drama, physical theatre, butoh and coaching trainings - are all rooted in her offering. For her it's a great honour and joy to create spaces where we can unite in dance, gather resources, deepen connection and experience the power of embodied transformation - individually and collectively.

“Beautiful, transformative - expertly and sensitively held by Mira. High quality on every level - a safe, expansive, empowering and healing space. SO grateful.” - Lydia

“The dance ceremony was exceptional! The fact that it was online didn't stand in the way of feeling deeply connected to the other dancers. Mira's guidance was incredibly healing, elevating and inspiring. I have been dancing with Mira for over three years now and her mastery is always deepening and blossoming. I am so grateful for these spaces.” — Bristena

“The dance was energising, cathartic and nourishing- a perfect tonic for these trying times. I felt connected to myself, to the other dancers and the global community; Mira held the online space so skilfully and beautifully- my body felt listened to and my spirit guided. Being new to the practice, I left the dance jumping for joy and daring to dream.” - Riss

“Thankful for Mira’s sacred space holding. Feeling transformed after dancing in her Movement Medicine class last night. Grateful for your precision and grace as a teacher. You freed up a space for deep internal reflection, connection to ourselves, each other, our collective history, opening to life in the present and the possibilities awaiting us. It was a truly moving and profound experience. This is beautiful medicine and the music is delicious!” - Rachel
