Elemental Yoga: Connecting to our Roots (4-week course)

The word yoga stems from the sanskrit word “yuj” meaning to unite. How can we best unite with our roots and the forces of nature that constitute our being?

When our fundamental energies are imbalanced, this can manifest in forms of anxiety, stress and decreased wellbeing. By dedicating practice to cultivate our four aspects of self, we can find greater balance, clarity and inner peace.

Martha will be leading four yoga sessions, with each class exploring a different element: water, fire, earth and air. Through various pranayama (breathing techniques), mantra (chant) and asana (physical postures), we will move through a practice to harness the fundamental qualities of each element with flow’s designed to relieve tension and create space in the body. By dancing with the breath through varied sequences, Martha aims to leave you feeling in greater harmony and more relaxed.

Martha Allitt

Martha is a qualified yoga instructor and works for the Psychedelic Society, curating psychedelic science events. She holds a degree in Neuroscience with her interest lying in the intersection between spiritual practice, movement, bodywork and mental health.
