We are super excited to be offering 'ECSTATIC DISCO' at Ministry of Sound - Dedicated to all those Lovers of Dance Music! Expect Funk, Disco and House music with Live Percussion! Beautiful Cacao Ceremony and guided Positive Intention Ritual plus optional Yoga class before the dance! Come Dance your Freedom - Ignite your Creativity - Open Your Heart!

Sat, 16 March 3.00pm-8.30pm. Please arrive from 4.45pm to make the most out of the experience and allow a smooth check in process (last entry 6:15pm)

This is a shared journey from the beginning to the end and we aim to create a safe container for all. Please respect this, arrive on time, explore the venue, meet fellow conscious dancers, warm up with DJ Amada's set or Yoga with Isabell (if booked) or grab a snack (in courtyard), a soft drink (sober bar area) or complimentary chai (in upstairs lounge area)!

Wear comfortable clothes & shoes, add sparkles, glitter & facepaints if you want to! IT'S ECSTATIC DISCO/ HOUSE/ FUNK! Be prepared to move, sweat and maybe bring a set of dry clothes for after the dance! Be ready to groove and have an amazing evening!

SCHEDULE

15:00 - 17:15 Dance Part 1, Doors Open, Social/ Dances different rooms with guest DJ's (No entry after 6:15pm).
-Yoga session 4pm-5:15pm (arrive by 3:55pm please). If you've booked a ticket for yoga please bring a yoga mat and arrive no later than 3:55pm, there will be a separate check in queue for those attending Yoga session.
Please bring ID. Cloakroom costs £2.50 per item and we recommend to bring a big enough bag to put your jacket and valuables in. Wear comfortable shoes for movement and bring a reusable water bottle. Soft drinks and snacks will be available to purchase during the evening.

16:00 - 17:15 Yoga Class (Optional for extra cost) Suitable for all levels. Please bring a yoga mat and arrive no later than 3:55pm (there will be spare yoga mats available)

We are planning to go to Mercato Metropolitano after the event for a social! It's massive, airy market offering a range of street fare from Italian to Vietnamese! FREE ENTRY! Address: 42 Newington Causeway, London SE1 6DR

IMPORTANT INFO & PRACTICALITIES - PLEASE READ

-Please have the ticket QR code ready for scanning upon arrival (ID won't be required)
-Social/ warm up DJ sets in different rooms from 3pm followed by evening Ecstatic Disco & Cacao from 5:15pm-8:30pm (in the main dance space the Box) plus overflow dance/cacao spaces will be available depending on number of attendees.
-Yoga session 4pm-5:15pm (arrive by 3:55pm please). If you've booked a ticket for yoga please bring a yoga mat and arrive no later than 3:55pm, there will be a separate check in queue for those attending Yoga session.

-Chai is complimentary in upstairs lounge area (brewed from fresh spices, caffeine & sugar free, made with gluten free oat & coconut milk)
-Raw Vegan Cacao is complimentary (gluten, dairy, nut free, made with ceremonial grade cacao, water, coconut milk & date syrup. We won't be providing non sweetened cacao at this event. We will drink cacao all together in the ceremony)

ABOUT THE VENUE & SOUND SYSTEM

- MINISTRY OF SOUND: first opened its doors way back in September 1991. Inspired by New York’s cavernous house venues, our home was a derelict bus garage in south London - an area that, at the time, was more infamous than famous. The first night had no alcohol, three flashing lights, moody security and unless you knew the names of at least half-a-dozen Chicago house DJs, you were never getting through the menacing, prison-like, gates. Despite these eccentricities, the night was a success and within a matter of weeks, word had spread that something special had landed smack bang in the middle of London’s club scene. This was the first club dedicated to house music, the first club to pick up the gauntlet laid down by the second summer of love and, most importantly, the world’s first nightclub with a room built purely for exceptional sound quality.

-SOUND SYSTEM: To this day sound is still at the forefront of everything the Ministry of Sound does. Put simply, there is no better place on earth to hear the world’s greatest DJs play the world’s best music! The club's main space - the Box was designed to make sound quality paramount, with towering speaker stacks, several million watts of bass and triple-thick absorbing walls. The club boasts a 64-speaker, 22-channel sound-system with a ring of six bespoke Martin Audio ground stacks positioned around the dancefloor of The Box. Basically, you have to experience The Box in person to appreciate just how unique it is! :)

WHAT IS "ECSTATIC DISCO" ALL ABOUT?

Disco embodies the essence of ecstatic dance. It's fun, liberating and light-hearted. and doesn't take itself too seriously. Ecstatic Dance is seriously infectious, so be warned: this night might change your life!

Come and dance to OPEN-UP, to release city stress, dance in more light and joy, and make new friends - all accompanied by a liberating disco & funk to connect us deeply with our dance, our hearts, and our creativity!

We'll be including delicious ceremonial grade cacao and a beautiful cacao ceremony/guided meditation facilitated by Seth to connect us with our body, our hearts and positive intention.

No prior experience of dance necessary. All welcome.

Our Ecstatic Dance sessions have guidelines of: No booze, No Shoes, No phones, No Chit Chat, Move However You Wish, Respect yourself and others.

PRACTICE SPECIFICS: Warm-up: stretch, move/dance and reflect on the intention for the dance to a gentle sound wave. The Practice: freestyle dancing to a large sound wave featuring Live DJ set. Some guidance & facilitation will be provided. And then we will let the music, the community and our own inner space direct our steps, our movements, our expression, our journey. Relaxation: Ecstatic Dance usually ends with a deep relaxation. (More info about what is Ecstatic Dance - please scroll further down).

No late comers please. This is a shared journey from the beginning to the end and we aim to create a safe container for all dancers. If you are more than 30 min late from the start of the session, unfortunately you won't be able to join the session, please respect this and arrive on time. Thank you

Our Raw Vegan Cacao is prepared lovingly by Diana (who makes the best cacao in town for sure!). She uses ethically sourced, highest quality ingredients from Guatemala, directly from a reliable cacao bean farmer. Join us to explore Cacao + Ecstatic Dance as a potent synthesis for Transformation!

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

1. Please come already dressed in comfortable clothing suitable for movement/fitness and dress in layers. Bring a set of dry clothes/small towel as you will probably get sweaty during the session. Toilets are available at the venue but there are no separate changing rooms.

2. Please wear comfortable shoes for dancing.

3. a Reusable water bottle. Tap water & lemon water refill available at the venue. Soft drinks will be available to purchase during the evening.

4. A healthy snack to have after the dance.

5. If you've booked a ticket to attend Yoga class, please bring a yoga mat.

-Nearest station is Elephant & Castle and then it's a 5 min walk from the station. Please check tfl.gov.uk for latest travel updates.

-If you are driving, please be aware that the venue is in an Ultra Low Emission Zone and you may be liable to pay the daily fee.

-Find parking on parkopedia and use venues postcode. There is no parking at the venue.

-Please check nearby streets for bicycle racks to lock your bike if you are cycling.

-Venue is accessible to wheelchair users.

-Toilets are available at the venue.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

We do not offer refunds if you cannot attend; however we can transfer your ticket to another dance if you contact us via email or Eventbrite at least 48h prior to the event. Alternatively, you are welcome to pass on your ticket to a friend, colleague or family member. If you are showing any Covid-19 symptoms, please DO NOT attend the session. If we need to cancel the session due to unforeseen circumstances, we will issue a full refund.
