We are very excited to bring you the Winter  Contact Improvisation Festival 2024!

We are committed to deepening and celebrating the practice of contact improvisation in the UK. We are creating spaces and events to gather, dance, learn, and play in. This festival will be jam-packed with classes from internationally renowned teachers and jam spaces in a beautiful location and historical building based in Somerset. This event will be suitable for all levels with classes for beginners as well as experienced dancers. 

This CI festival will be the perfect winter break to gather and nourish our bodies and souls together.

There will be daily intensive classes each morning, you will need to choose the class that you will attend throughout the festival. After purchasing your ticket you will receive an email that includes a registration form where you will be able to select your preferred intensive class. You may attend any afternoon class you like.

When and Where

From the 28th November 2024, 5 pm to the  2nd December 2024 at noon.

We will be hosting the festival at Nettlecombe Court in Somerset. Nestled in the vast countryside, it is the ideal spot to get warm and cosy, dancing together as we enter the deeper phase of winter. There are beautiful walks and we will provide a sauna for the event to support our dancing bodies.

Nettlecombe Court is well catered for accommodating large groups, with multiple spaces to dance and eat in as well as many shared bedrooms with ensuites.

Travel 

The nearest train station is Taunton, a 30-minute drive to Nettlecombe. We will also provide a minibus to and from Taunton train station at a particular time on Thursday afternoon and  Monday morning, this will cost £12.50 per person for a single journey. We will provide the opportunity to self-organize lift shares to and from the event.

We invite you to consider the option you choose, if you can support others by paying a higher price we are incredibly grateful. We have attempted to make this event as affordable as possible, as well as pay professionals and fair rates for contributors.

Additional Information 

We will provide three organic* vegetarian meals per day, plus access to hot drinks all day. If you have dietary requirements please provide information via the registration form that you will receive a link to upon your ticket purchase. If you require specific or additional food items please bring them, there is no shop within a walkable distance. 

You will be assigned your bed and bedding upon arrival, you will be sharing a room with other participants, and there are ample rooms. If you have specific room requirements or accessibility needs please let us know via the registration form.

Please bring all the things required to make your personal experience as comfortable as possible, including: 

• Dance Clothes
• Two / Three towels
• Warm clothes
• Walking boots / muddy wear
• Snacks
• Medications
• Ear plugs and eye masks

Please do not bring: 

• Recreational drugs/intoxicants

*Please note organic and local ingredients will be used where feasibly possible although we can not guarantee all ingredients used will be organic or local. 

Ticket Refunds
Tickets are non-refundable, except in the case of event cancellation. 
Partial and full refunds may be possible at the organiser's discretion up to 14 days before the event.  
In the event of cancellation, ticket holders will be notified via email, and refunds will be issued automatically through the original payment method.
