Creating Hope will be a very unique, charity peace event, the first of its kind, here in Totnes.

Its main intention is to inspire hope in our minds, towards building positive action for a future where both Palestinians & Israelis can live in harmony, equality & mutual respect for each other. The other aim for this event is to raise much needed funding for major grassroots peace activists & their vital ongoing work, especially in these very dark & painful times, of endless violence, destruction & loss.

We very much hope this powerful event will raise awareness to all people in this conflict and will give the audience a rare opportunity and closer insight into the human experience and  shared humanity of those directly affected,  whilst all speakers hold the same goal, one of creating Hope and change , that we pray, will ultimately lead to equality, justice , dignity and reconciliation for all the people living on the same land.

Importantly 100% of the proceeds of this event & all additional donations, will be divided between the following key organisations & peace activists:

  1. The Parents Circle - Bereaved Families forum
  2. Combatants for Peace
  3. Hamze Awawde - Peace Activist
  4. Peace Activists in Gaza
  5. MAP -  Medical Aid For Palestinians with a focus on humanitarian aid for Gaza.

The funding of these grassroot activists and these organisations are crucial and much needed. Without independent funds, the individual efforts of these hard-working peace activists and others cannot continue.

For conflict resolution to occur and the endless cycle of violence to STOP, we simply cannot continue to watch endless horrific videos of death, suffering & destruction, day in, day out. This continuous horrendous visual content , only fuels our desperate feelings of anguish, guilt, helplessness and hopelessness.
Hating one side or another for their disgraceful actions,  or blaming leaders, armies & civilians, will not bring an end to indiscriminate killing and this endless cycle of violence. Let us bravely come together in conversation,  as a community, listen to the voices of humanity and see where and how else we can help support towards building an equal existence for Palestinians & Israelis.
Therefore, the ultimate aim for this event is to open our eyes to a deeper human understanding and open our minds and hearts to those involved, their individual experiences, their hurts and hopes, their voice and vision and learn how we can consciously choose to support and enable building hope into positive action towards peace.
