Women in the Woods are gathering again! This time to celebrate the Summer Solstice together, the longest day of the year, the lifegiving warmth and light of the Sun…

Join us for 4 days of nourishing togetherness, songs and nature sounds, fire circles, woodland walks, lake swims and sauna, embodied yoga practices, creative nature-based rituals, healing herbs and tea ceremony, delicious food and so much more…

Summer Solstice is energetically very powerful time when the sun appears to stop, pause, and there is energetical opening up, like a portal of positive celestial potential. This year it falls on Wednesday 21st June at 14:57, but we will feel its influence a few days before and a few days after this date. We are so excited to be holding our retreat during those days to fully embrace and honour this time and the gifts it bring us.

We will take you on a journey into your Sacred Self, the shining Sun within you, the pure magical intelligent life force that comes through you to be expressed in this world and share its unique medicine. Our tools will be sound, voice, breath, movement and stillness, sharing and quiet presence, immersion in nature and all the elements, creative expression that comes from the open heart and rooted bare feet… Simple practices that can shift the way we feel and interact with the world around us, and are always available to us.

We will explore our unique gifts and potential, the creative energy that wants to shine through us, our relationship to our power (the Sun), while honouring the difficult emotions and deep needs that can arise through this process and are often overlooked (the Moon). We aim to create a space where all our parts are welcomed and held in Harmony, where all the healing happens, where we find our balance… Space of deep connection with ourselves, with our tribe, loving, visceral, free, joyful!!!

Who are we?

A collective of women with Slavic roots, a culture that is intimately connected with nature and its medicine. In the modern world we forgot how to connect to Nature, we forgot that we are part of Nature. Slavic culture brings a wealth of nourishment to help us tune into the cycle/seasons and celebrate important markings of the year. We guide you to reconnect to your roots, to Nature and bring a sense of belonging to yourself, others and beyond drawing on Slavic rituals. We have all been on a journey of learning, growing and stumbling sometimes, exploring and healing ourselves through different modalities. We wish to share our passion and what we learnt on the way, by creating this space for connection, healing and celebration of who you are!

Zuna is a bodyworker (with background in myofascial release, sports therapy & rehabilitation), massage therapist, Yoga & meditation teacher. Her work is influenced by her passion for dance and embodied movement, numerous journeys with plant medicines and different healing modalities (conscious body therapies). She loves to hold sacred fire circles, where she opens a ceremonial space for connecting and sharing, guided by the framework of The Way of Council. She feels deeply rooted in her connection with nature, and the community of humans with open hearts and positive intention to share and support each other more, while taking care of the Earth and regenerating our environment. Her particular interest is in freeing up inner tensions and restrictions that bring us out of alignment, restrict our freedom of movement and expression, and ultimately lead to pain and dis-ease. This happens on physical, psychological, emotional and soul level, which are all interconnected and a reflection of each other. In her treatments, classes and circles she holds, she creates space for you to slow down and tune into your own being with curiosity and compassion. This space opens up the potential for healing, deeper connection to your body, emotions, you Essence, and your inner wisdom.
Lena Leszczyc is an experienced process facilitator that holds heartfelt, safe, creative and healing spaces to empower women on their unique journeys exploring and strengthening their voices, singing in harmony together, helping women to come to a more grounded, peaceful, connected and open place in themselves. Currently, she is researching and studying singing for Health and Wellbeing with Tonalis. She is a trauma informed group facilitation facilitator. Lena is Polish by birth with Eastern European songs deeply rooted in her soul. Bringing this treasure trove of beautiful songs about nature, enchanted forests, villages, seas and rivers. Lena’s passion for these songs is as infectious as the songs themselves, and a key part of what she describes as her ‘beautiful heritage'. Lena is a feminine sound therapist (with bestselling sound therapy course on Udemy https://www.udemy.com/user/lena-leszczyc/ ) and leader of Women’s Singing Circle - Women In Harmony in Bristol as well as Waldorf teacher, Art tutor, Kids’ Entertainer (LenaBalloons - https://www.facebook.com/lenaballoons/about)
Živa is a creatrix, a mother and a wild woman. She has a base in socio-cultural anthropology where she focused on ritual and religious/spiritual identities. However, as her biggest teachers she perceives nature, her female body and the mothering experience. Živa brings the elements of ritual to her creative work (intuitive painting, art-therapy, land art, poetry and writing stories) that she devotes to healing and honouring women and the Earth. She will guide you on a journey of creating the wreath crowns for the epic summer solstice Slavic ritual. Through working with the natural materials you will connect on a deep level to the environment around and within yourself. On the retreat Živa will also take the role of  the kitchen witch - preparing  meals as a form of ritual and art. You will also have a chance to look at and purchase her Sacred Womanhood Art in the form of postcards, prints and journals. You can find her work on Instagram: @ziva.zena and on Etsy: CreateShareNourish.
Marta Sila holds beautiful medicinal Tea ceremonies. It is a very simple yet deeply nourishing experience. Marta’s humble presence and care with each move, each drop of water being poured, and the healing subtle vibrations of specially selected tea leaves that have been used for ceremonies through generations, will draw you into a powerful yet effortless state of presence, clarity and connection. Just allow any emotions to gently trickle out of you while enjoying the spacious silence, which is so precious nowadays. “Tea ceremony is my way of speaking to you. Medicine is anything that puts us in harmony with Great Spirit and all life on this Earth”       (WuDe – We choose)

“It was pure bliss spending three days in a beautiful woodland connecting deeper with myself and nature in the supportive circle of sisterhood. This retreat was clearly a creation of love and very well organised. The facilitators created a safe holding space where we were able to explore and express ourselves fully. I loved how unique each workshop was, offering its medicine for the body, mind and soul. Honestly, I came away with much more than I expected bringing inspiration and a lightness of being back with me. Thank you for a wonderful time, I will treasure the magic we shared in the woods forever. “

The facilitators were very skilled, supportive and passionate about what they were doing. They created a good connection in the group and a safe space for opening up and sharing. This is definitely something that all women deserve to receive and experience and I highly recommend it.”
