Join Sarah Janes and Daniel Taylor for a truly cosmic, astral bathing weekend in a Dark Skies region of the South Downs in West Sussex.

During the weekend we will be exploring ancient Mesopotamian dream healing techniques, lucid and precognitive dreaming and the power of heavenly, astronomical influence. This weekend coincides with an especially potent period of celestial activity, it sees the peak of the Perseid meteor shower and the full Hazel Moon, these are cosmic events that would have been charged with meaning and symbolism for our ancient ancestors all over the world. The moon is often seen as a messenger of the gods and the gods are the stars and planets of the firmament.

In ancient Mesopotamia, the night sky was the realm of divine beings. A Mesopotamian healer would place a patient under the stars to dream at night - the idea being that the beneficent light of the star gods could then ‘irradiate’ their body and bring them back into harmony with the cosmos and therefore the positive influence of the gods.

The stars are a balm in the blanket of the night and can offer a powerful panacea.

There are only 16 Dark Sky reserves around the world and we’ve got one on our doorstep! There’s very little light pollution in the South Downs National Park, so it’s a special place to visit when you’re used to city life!

Exact location and directions will be shared upon ticket purchase.
