Do you eat in secret or devour the whole packet before you realise what you're doing?

Do you talk negatively to your body using words you would never say to anyone else?

Have you held back sharing about your eating patterns with people, feeling scared of being misunderstood or judged?

Do you hear yourself saying: ‘this is the last time i'm going to eat this snack, tomorrow I will be better or make up for it in the gym?’

→ This group is for you! You are not alone!

Give yourself a break, take a step back! Life is very complicated and we all use different coping mechanisms.

Overview

This journey will give you space to share your emotional eating experiences along with your body relationship story. When you bring something to the surface it has less power over you. When you do this in a group setting, you have more chance of making lasting change.

We will unpack and explore the cultural and personal patterns that have kept you locked in an unhealthy relationship with food. We will spend time with others who have had similar experiences, learn about the psychology behind emotional eating, explore tools to understand and overcome unhelpful thinking and create a self care tool kit.

Many of us have spent years on endless diets, trapped in a cycle of restriction, binging and unconscious eating, all leading to self depreciation. If these methods also haven't worked for you then this group will help you to unpack why, and create steps towards understanding and overcoming your patterns.

This group will be a closed group which will allow us to create a safe container to dive deep into our own stories and our societal and cultural conditioning.

How the group may benefit you:

It will allow you to…

  • Share your personal experience in a non judgemental space
  • Feel part of a community who support you in your goals
  • Explore the cultural and personal patterns you have
  • Gain increased feelings of self acceptance
  • Practice expressing your emotions
  • Connect with your body signals
  • Reframe and unpack unhelpful thinking
  • Create a self care tool kit to prioritise you

This is for you if you want to:

  • Share your food and body life experience and feel heard and understood
  • Understand and let go of limiting beliefs
  • Let go of diet culture and liberate yourself from its restraints
  • Understand your triggers
  • Stop the same old cycles playing out
  • Change your relationship with your body, and step into an empowered story of self love and acceptance
  • Be held accountable to making positive health choices

Structure:

Week 1: Physical vs emotional hunger

Explore the difference between physical and emotional hunger and how we can notice, track and satiate each of them.

Week 2: Body image and body neutrality

Share our body stories and, using self enquiry, we will explore how society informed views, diet culture and ‘thin ideals’ have impacted this story.

Week 3: Inner critic and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy):

Identify and explore our inner critic and our unhelpful thinking styles. We will use tools to help us understand and reframe limiting beliefs.

Week 4: Practice week

Spend time going over any exercises you want to further pursue or haven't had time to complete. We will also discuss any barriers that have arisen and the impact of the course so far.

Week 5: Triggers and shame

Notice how our environmental and emotional food triggers, restriction and food labelling impact our behaviours. We will use empathy and compassion practices to overcome and nurture our inner world.

6 week follow up: After 6 weeks there will be an open session where we will meet again to reconnect, check in and discuss our journeys.

Testimonials

*****‘There is a lot of shame and expectation around bodies, food and eating in our culture. Haych made everyone feel safe and at home straight away and gave us so many useful tools and ways of looking at things. She effortlessly blends the science of nutrition with therapy approaches, relaxation techniques and self-love practices. I found the course both useful and healing, it was a unique space to share and be honest with others on a similar food journey about some difficult things that are often hidden. I felt so supported by Haych and the other participants, we learned loads, laughed loads and even cried together. I'm so grateful that I found this group and Haych's awesome expertise’ - Sarah.V

*****‘Thank you for this excellent course. It's given me lots of insights into my behaviours and how my self care practices were not prioritising me. I was able to share about my personal journey which was really helpful and also comforting to hear others stories. I loved the science background you shared and that I have new exercises and tools to use on a daily basis. With micro moments and these new frameworks I can give myself the attention I deserve’- Heather. G.A

Please note: This is not an alternative to therapy, however it can work well alongside therapy.. Please get in contact if you want to discuss if this group will be suitable for you.
