This three-part course is an exploration into shamanism and how it is applicable to the modern world.

Shamanism, often called the proto-religion, is considered the original spark from which all spirituality stems, and is a practice that is becoming more and more popular in the modern age. But what is shamanism, how exactly can it help us today, and who does it apply to?

This course is for anybody who is interested in these questions, from those with years of experience to those who have never heard the word “shaman” before. It will run from 7-9:30pm each week, and the sessions will be split between open lectures and a ceremony each week.

Session 1

  • What is Shamanism?
  • Traditional uses of shamanic practice
  • The trance state
  • Shamanism as a balancing power for modernity.
  • Shamanic Journeying Ceremony

Session 2

  • Shamanism - the good, the bad, and the ugly
  • Curses - do they still exist?
  • Holding on to power in a disempowering world
  • How to develop spiritual conscientiousness
  • Shamanic Journeying Ceremony

Session 3

  • Integrating ancient wisdom with a modern mind
  • The link between purpose and healing
  • Becoming a steward of the land
  • Sacred responsibility
  • Shamanic Dreaming Circle

Eddy Elsey was born in London and grew up suffering from acute and debilitating anxiety. When traditional psychotherapy didn’t work – he, like many others, began to look for a different route to healing, which led to various spiritual practices.

After a rigorous multi-year initiation into shamanic techniques with a teacher from this land, Eddy created Street Spirituality with the aim of removing the taboo from authentic shamanic practice. There is no reason why this form of ancient healing cannot help everyone, no matter their background, in their journey back to themselves – back to their heart.

As well as a 1-2-1 healing practice, Eddy runs events and workshops at the leading studios in London and has since been featured in GQ, Men’s Health, The Metro and The Telegraph for this work, as well as becoming the resident Shamanic Practitioner at The Mandrake Hotel in London.
