PLEASE EMAIL LOUISE PRIOR TO BOOKING IF YOUR CHILD HAS NOT ALREADY JOINED THIS GROUP
Young Scientists is a class for 8-11 year olds who enjoy science and want to learn more about being a scientist.
The aim of the class is to develop the children’s understanding of the scientific methods, processes and skills needed to work scientifically. They will be setting up simple experiments; learning how to make experiments fair; how to measure and collect results accurately and how to use their results to draw scientific conclusions. There will be lots of hands-on practical work and plenty of discussion time.
As the class is focussing on developing science skills, the children will already need to be able to read and write at least a few sentences at a time so they can record the various stages of their experiments. They will also need to be secure in key stage 1 maths skills to enable them to take measurements and interpret them.
Age range: Between ages 8 and 11
Led by Louise a fully qualified and highly experienced teacher. Please contact Louise directly with any questions: louisebrickell2@gmail.com.
